The Guide’s Perspective | Summer 2025/26

views 273

Reflecting on the past summer season in Cape Town, we are struck by how seamlessly everything aligned to create a truly spectacular period for our guests. We were fortunate to enjoy a season defined by exceptional weather and minimal disruptions, allowing our team to focus entirely on the art of the experience.

The photographs in this edition, captured “From the Guides’ Perspective,” serve as a tribute to those sun-drenched days and the vibrant energy that only a Cape summer can provide.

Warm regards,
Daniel Sheard (Founder & MD)

These are the moments you can’t put into an itinerary. When the time, place, and mood feel right, our spontaneous stop for bubbles and views makes an everlasting impression.

The local and guest favourite, the Oranjezicht City Farm Market, has a new and improved home in the V&A Waterfront. The abundance of fresh farm produce for sale is extraordinary.

Our guests with Siviwe, the founder of the Happy Feet Youth Project in Langa, as he shows off the brand-new Happy Feet Hub. Happy Feet is an NPO that empowers the children of the Langa community through dance and tourism.

Thinking on the fly, Private guide Quintin organised tickets for a sports-mad father-and-son guest duo to watch a SA20 cricket match at Newlands Cricket Ground. A proper local summer experience!

Guests were fortunate enough to witness a local spectacle that felt like a slow-motion tidal wave of white. This is a specific atmospheric dance between the cold Atlantic Ocean and the unique topography of Cape Town.

From the Cape Point Nature Reserve to the meadows of Noordhoek to mountain summits, we pride ourselves on our gourmet picnics. The setups are based on what best suits the guests and the flow of the day.

The locals making sure everyone feels welcome…

A beautiful still morning in Simon’s Town harbour, creating a scene not unlike a Greek isle postcard.

Private Guide, Simon, with our latest addition to the fleet.

Family fun cruising along the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive with Cape Town Sidecars. An epic and adventurous way to cruise along Africa’s most scenic road.

Guests meander on bicycles through the vineyards of the Cape countryside.

Private Guide, Rudi, prepping a few glasses of MCC for guests to enjoy as they walk through the exquisite farm of Thelema Mountain Vineyards. This is one of our most celebrated exclusive experiences.

A magical scene for this honeymoon couple, venturing off to explore with Cape Point in the distance, while their guide sets up their gourmet picnic lunch.
